Forecasters say it will turn much colder in the UK this weekend, with unseasonable frost and sub-zero temperatures in some areas.
“It’s all thanks to a cold front slowly moving southwards across the UK on Friday,” said Sky weather presenter Nazaneen Ghaffar. “This will bring with it colder air into northern areas.
It’ll be chilly for Scotland and Northern Ireland and northern Scotland could see a few wintry showers.
“On Saturday again some wintry showers are likely over the hills of Scotland.”
Flood warnings and alerts remain in place, with some rivers set to reach their peaks.

Flooding in Essex and Suffolk, England
-Passengers of a car and a school bus rescued in Debenham.
-Flood warnings issued for both Essex and Suffolk counties of England.
-A12 Kelvedon road in Essex closed. Roads in Heybridge, Clacton, Horsley Cross, Colchester, Eight Ash Green, Great Tey and Great Chesterford also flooded.
Flood warning in Essex: For the River Brain from Black Notley to Witham, the River Colne from Castle Hedingham to Halstead and the Bumpstead Brook at Steeple Bumpstead.
Flood warnings in Suffolk: for the River Lark, the Rattlesden River, the River Box, River Brett and the Stour Brook at Haverhill.

The UK was merely in an unlucky zone. Preliminary results suggest a pretty warm April globally.

The "drought fail" is misleading for some parts of the UK, which still have a moisture deficite even after the wet April.

But i did find this According to data available to AccuWeather.com, rainfall was 2 to 3 times above normal throughout the UK and Ireland for the month of April.http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/western-europe-to-remain-storm/64778
I know its not to do with moisture deficite, but it gos along way to helping grass growth.

shouldnt the map show N.Z as black not red as NIWA say over all we were +0.3c on avg for April.

NZ is very thin and right near the edge of that map, so I wouldn't conclude too much. Some parts of NZ were quite a bit warmer than +0.3C, some quite a bit cooler. Remember it's a satellite record too, not a measure of surface temperatures.
