Tokoroa 7:30am -

Cold and reluctant this morning +0.3ºC at 7:17 and 0.7ºC now so it's on the rise.  Clear calm day, the maize harvester is in the neighbouring fields and the hawk was chased away by the magpie!
Breeze is from the SE but calm at the moment.

Anyway: New Plymouth, 9.2 degrees currently, sun is up, some cloud around. SE breeze.
Overnight low was 7.6 degrees, at 4am

A clear cold start for Howick. The low was 4.5°C around 7.30am. Brrrr.

Often that is the coldest May gets in some years. In 2006 we had a low less than 2°C in May.

Yes May can do that here, sometimes, as well. I expect tonight to be a candidate for below 5 degrees.

Freezing cold, started off at 5 degrees now its 7 degrees with light shower and a pesky cold breeze.

New Plymouth: 13.6 degrees and sunny, SE wind. But there is a band of thick cloud, running across the eastern sky and it is constant and spits of rain drop from it.
Feels like Winter and in short, it is a Winter's Day, with July temperatures.
