Description: This one is the makings of an ice storm coming off the hills in Paekakariki. It dropped hail, sleet and bitterly cold rain which stung your skin. The wind chill was a shocker, was below 0C. Shortly after taking this pic in 2013, it exploded into an updraft storm with the pressure being so low at 971 hPa. Twas a Southerly and by 1500 hrs we'd reached 3C. Was 1.5C when I took this pic. So they're not far away from being a full on ice storm. Gads that thought makes me cringe.
