Description: Since I haven't posted anything on the weather forum for a very long time, (for that I am sorry) I thought I might share what I've been up to.

I'm now imaging deep sky objects with my modded Canon 1000D camera and my 90mm refractor. Lucky for me we have had a beautiful summer with plenty of clear nights for me to get out and image the night. Unfortunately for me when it is fine I don't get a lot of sleep, but energy drinks keep me awake for work the next day
Typical when daylight savings ends the weather turns on me. Anyways here's one of my many images.

What are the 'mods' to the camera? are they hardware or software mods?

Hi,

The canon filter on the sensor chip on the camera is replaced with a more sensitive one, It's designed to pick up on H Alpha wavelengths which many emission nebulae emit, which normal cameras do not capture very well.
I have a Baader IR cut filter on mine, cost me 145 bucks.
