Total Solar eclipse
Total Solar eclipse
Description: Total Solar Eclipse (heavily processed solar corona)
This image took a lot of work, but I'm pretty happy with the final results. It shows the glorious structure of the Suns outer and inner corona (atmosphere), which was visible during the total solar eclipse in Northern Queensland. Note* Solar prominences can be seen in this image on the edge of the Suns disk.
This image was processed using fitswork software, a total of 8 images were used with ranging exposures of 1/4000th of a second to around 1 second. They were then stacked together and a special filter was applied to reveal detail in the corona.
Curves and Levels in Photoshop were then used.
