Description: For anyone who likes orographic SE's that come right over from the other side, or funnel clouds, this came down on 21 August 2012. Ahead of this one were a further 3 funnels which dropped in a line. The funnels were at the end of big horizontal pipe looking clouds, which curled right around and then dropped to form these. An enormous black base could be seen with the rest obscured in cloud, so presuming it was a passing CB. Usual stuff, high, freezing cold wind blasts.

Interesting unstable airs there, with a scud that definitely showed a rotational element in the tail that went horizontal but could have been vertical depending on geographic surroundings and features. |
