There was a swimming pool at the back with plenty of lounging space. Walking to the village for a coffee took all of 5 minutes. Owners very friendly and helpful.
The guy who drove us back to Cairns on a shuttle bus said he lived in PD for 7-8 months of the year and Waiheke for 4-5 months - thus getting perpetually warmish or warm temps and avoiding the North Q'land wet season and NZ winter rains as well.
