Had to break the ice on the paddock troughs down in the valley on the neighbouring dairy farm this morning with a hammer so the cows could drink, at least half an inch thick. The Grass was so frozen that the cows broke it off and it has now gone all brown. |

Yes well that is cold - probably perma-frost as it sees no sun all day, sheltered and the day stays cold, ground stays cold and frozen. | |

I suppose the trees would seriously delay warming if they are to the east or north. Very nice! | |
